The youngest of five children, Matt was born into the post war optimism of 1960’s Britain, close to Birmingham, England.
Matt studied Photography, graduating from Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and Design.
After leaving Bournemouth he took the M3 heading north east in his Alfa Romeo Alfasud, to terrorise the streets of South West London.
Embarking on his commercial practice in 1987, Matts work has been published both nationally and internationally.
Now residing on the North Essex Coast, Matt’s photographic practice reflects his boyhood interest in all things automotive, which is
sustained through an innate curiosity with human beings and the things that make them laugh curse and tick.
Involved in photographic education since 1992 he is currently teaching at Degree Level in the county town of Norfolk.
Matt is training future generations of photographers to be as equally curious and to investigate the ever changing world in which we live.
